We all have a story hidden within ourselves: the story of our own birth. Since ancient times, women have been passing down birth stories for generations, passing on wisdom, the joy, the pain, the legends of childbearing and motherhood to the women who came after them. As time has gone on and birth has become more institutionalized, the story and the magic of new life can get lost in the policy and procedure of it all.

Birth photography helps you tell and retell the story of your child’s birth for generations to come.

Memories fade, details may get lost to the years, but having a photo of the moment keeps it frozen in time, just as it’s happening. It’s more than just an image in a frame, it captures the joy, anguish, pain, fear, elation, strength, courage and love of the moment: the moments you sacrificed your body, your comfort, your sleep to bring your baby earthside. The moment your baby took their first breath.

As a photographer, my priority is capturing candid photos of you and your family with little to no posing involved. I try to adapt a true-to-life editing style and keep colors natural and warm. I am new to photography but not new to labor and birth, and my knowledge and experience as a doula helps me anticipate and capture all of the big moments and special little details of the childbirth experience.

Fresh 48 Package

  • 1-2 hour session ~48 hours after birth, at the birth location (hospital, home, birth center).

  • 25 edited images

Newborn Lifestyle Package

  • The goal of this session is to capture your family and your newborn in their most natural state - in the comfort of your own home.

  • Allow for 2-3 hours for this session - we can work around your baby/family routine.

  • Other children and siblings are/can be included (including fur-siblings!)

  • 30-40 edited images.

  • Online digital gallery, download and print release

  • Investment: $300
